Comparison of blue and green water fluxes for different land use classes in a semi-arid cultivated catchment using remote sensing

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology: Regional Studies, 2021
Study area: Kikuletwa catchment, Upper Pangani River Basin, Tanzania. Study focus: This study compared yearly blue and green water fluxes using four different methods: Senay’s method (SN) (Senay et al., 2016), van Eekelen method (EK) (van Eekelen et al.,

Constraining ecosystem processes from tower fluxes and atmospheric profiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The planetary boundary layer (PBL) provides an important link between the scales and processes resolved by global atmospheric sampling/modeling and site-based flux measurements.

A comparison of different inverse carbon flux estimation approaches for application on a regional domain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We have implemented six different inverse carbon flux estimation methods in a regional carbon dioxide (CO2) flux modeling system for the Netherlands.

A new approach for simultaneously retrieving cloud albedo and cloud fraction from surface-based shortwave radiation measurements

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2013
Surface-based measurements of shortwave (SW) radiative fluxes contain valuable information on cloud properties, but have not been fully used to infer those properties.

Meteorology and surface energy fluxes in the 2005–2007 ablation seasons at the Miage debris-covered glacier, Mont Blanc Massif, Italian Alps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
During the 2005–2007 June–September ablation seasons, meteorological conditions were recorded on the lower and upper parts of the debris‐covered ablation zone of Miage Glacier, Italy. In 2005, debris temperature and subdebris ice melt were also monitored

Validation of parameterizations for the surface turbulent fluxes over sea ice with CHINARE 2010 and SHEBA data

open access: yesPolar Research, 2013
This study examines the modelled surface turbulent fluxes over sea ice from the bulk algorithms of the Beijing Climate Centre Climate System Model (BCC_CSM), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) model and the Community Earth ...

Scale variability of atmospheric surface layer fluxes of energy and carbon over a tropical rain forest in southwest Amazonia; 1 diurnal conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The aim of this study is to investigate the low-frequency characteristics of diurnal turbulent scalar spectra and cospectra near the Amazonian rain forest during the wet and dry seasons.

A New Flux/Phase Qubit With Integrated Readout

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Appiled Superconductivity, 2005
We propose a new scheme for a flux/phase qubit, based on a double-SQUID modified to achieve a direct readout of the flux state. The readout is performed by inserting a large Josephson junction in the SQUID loop; the junction is biased by an external current and switches from the zero-voltage to the running state depending on the flux state of the qubit.

Controls of carbon dioxide concentrations and fluxes above central London [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Eddy-covariance measurements of carbon dioxide fluxes were taken semi-continuously between October 2006 and May 2008 at 190 m height in central London (UK) to quantify emissions and study their controls.
