Star Photometry for DECam Legacy Survey and Sloan Digital Sky Survey Images Based on Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
Flux is one of the most fundamental parameters in astrophysics, and aperture photometry and point-spread function (PSF) photometry are commonly used methods to obtain the flux.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Particle Fluxes in the North-East Atlantic and Southern Ocean [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Concerns regarding the climatic implications of the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentrationsthroughout the anthropocene have provided the impetus to obtain a mechanistic understandingof oceanic processes and their role in regulating atmospheric pCO2 ...

Energy and water dynamics of a central Amazonian rain forest [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper presents measurements of the energy and water budgets of a tropical rain forest near Manaus, Brazil, in central Amazonia, collected between September 1995 and August 1996.

A new model for the 1-10 MeV proton fluxes (part of ONERA GREEN-V3 model) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
International audienceA new version of the ONERA GREEN model (GREEN V3) is in development, with a focus on low-energy proton fluxes (1-10 MeV). Newly available measurements of the magnetosphere population of these particles make a revision of the GREEN ...

Upscaling surface energy fluxes over the North Slope of Alaska using airborne eddy-covariance measurements and environmental response functions [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2018
The objective of this study was to upscale airborne flux measurements of sensible heat and latent heat and to develop high-resolution flux maps. In order to support the evaluation of coupled atmospheric–land-surface models we investigated spatial ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Approaches to scaling of trace gas fluxes in ecosystems / [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This excellent book covers techniques used for extrapolating measurements of trace gas fluxes and factors regulating the production, consumption and exchange of trace gases in terrestrial and aquatic environments.

The Sensible Heat Flux in the Course of the Year at Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard: Characteristics of Eddy Covariance Data and Corresponding Model Results

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, 2015
In this paper we present one year of meteorological and flux measurements obtained near Ny-Ålesund, Spitsbergen. Fluxes are derived by the eddy covariance method and by a hydrodynamic model approach (HMA) as well.
