Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

GROUPS OF GERMAN DOMESTIC APPLIANCE MANUFACTURERS ACCORDING TO NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES

open access: yesResearch on Enterprise in Modern Economy Theory and Practice, 2013
Finding the best way to develop new products has been always a hot topic for practitioners and academics. However, so far only a few of these kinds of studies have concentrated on a single industry.

Envisages of New Product Developments in Small and Medium Enterprises through Virtual Team [PDF]

open access: yes
New product development (NPD) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) virtual team has not been systematically investigated in developing countries. Literatures have shown no significant differences between traditional NPD and virtual NPD in general.

Customer empowerment in new product development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Companies have traditionally taken responsibility for deciding what products and product innovations are offered to customers. However, a growing number of companies are turning this relationship on its head by asking customers not only for help in ...

Cell density–dependent nuclear‐cytoplasmic shuttling of SETDB1 integrates with Hippo signaling to regulate YAP1‐mediated transcription

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

Designing identity of a new material: a new product design approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The present research is a design practice-based research based on the industrial development of a new concrete. The research focuses on the development of the specific identity of a new material. The research is aimed at demonstrating that product design

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.
