The message that virtually all areas of the world wished to promote in the aftermath of the Cold War was that the time had now come for regional solutions to regional problems. Effective regionalism could dampen local disputes and enfranchise the people of the region to find solutions that were compatible with their regional preferences.

This study examined different news-following practices via mobile phones and questioned the reasons for news avoidance behaviour. In the study where in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 participants, 15 participants remarked that they had news avoidance.
