Adsorption of 5-Fluorouracil on Au(111) and Cu(111) surfaces
The adsorption of 5-Fluorouracil (5FU) on Au(111) and Cu(111) surfaces as a function of molecular coverage and temperature has been studied, using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and near-edge x-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy.

Fullerite C60 optical constants in the C 1s NEXAFS region
Using data on the absorption cross sections the refraction coefficient spectral dependence n E and the spectra of the remaining optical coefficients reflection coefficient, phase shift, and atomic form factor in the fullerite C60 C 1s near edge X ray ...

An analysis of the NEXAFS spectra of a molecular crystal: α-glycine [PDF]
The nitrogen K-edge near edge x-ray absorption fine structure spectrum of α-crystalline glycine has been calculated for temperatures ranging from 0 to 450 K. Significant temperature dependent spectral changes are predicted. The calculated room temperature spectrum is in good agreement with the experiment.

Role of Water in Low‐Temperature CO2 Reduction at Defect‐Rich TiO2
Our results highlight the potential of reduced titania as a noble metal‐free CO2 activation catalyst and show the activation of CO2 on highly defective TiO2 using in situ synchrotron‐based NAP‐XPS from room temperature to 700 K. The distribution of surface intermediates can be decoded as a simultaneous population of reaction routes, revealing water (OH)

NEXAFS imaging of synthetic organic materials
The utilization of near edge x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (NEXAFS) in achieving strong, novel contrast for soft x-ray microscopy and scattering methods has been afforded significant success in elucidating outstanding issues in organic materials systems due to the unique combination of high sensitivity to chemical functionality and thus ...

O2 enhances charge‐transfer in n‐type organic donor–acceptor charge‐transfer complexes (CTCs) via physisorption‐mediated trap passivation. By suppressing recombination and promoting long‐lived delocalized charge carriers, O2 improves electron transport and conductivity without doping.

Angle Resolved NEXAFS Spectra of Hexagonal and Cubic GaN
Phase stabilised cubic and hexagonal GaN thin films, grown by MBE, are studied using angle (φ) resolved NEXAFS measurements at the N-K-edge. It is demonstrated that the energy positions and intensities of the characteristic NEXAFS resonances depend on ...
