Sex Hormones and the Risk of Nasal Polyps: A Two‐Sample Mendelian Randomization Study

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The pathophysiological roles of sex hormones in airway inflammation have drawn much attention recently. We aimed to explore the causal effect of sex hormones on chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and nasal polyps (NP) via a Mendelian randomization (MR) study.

The Association Between Accelerated Biological Aging and the Physical, Psychological, and Cognitive Multimorbidity and Life Expectancy: Cohort Study

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Accelerated biological aging (KDM‐BA/PhenoAge) predicts higher multimorbidity risks and 5.3–7.0 life‐years lost in 332,012 UK adults. Those with accelerated aging face 12%–37% increased transition risks to severe health states. Integrating these metrics enables targeted interventions to reduce chronic disease burdens in aging populations.

Exploration of the association between estimated glucose disposal rate and osteoarthritis in middle-aged and older adults: An analysis of NHANES data from 2011 to 2018

open access: yesOpen Medicine
It is unclear how the estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR) index relates to osteoarthritis (OA). The goal of this research is to explore the possible link between the eGDR index and the likelihood of OA development.

Serum Testosterone Concentrations and Urinary Bisphenol A, Benzophenone-3, Triclosan, and Paraben Levels in Male and Female Children and Adolescents: NHANES 2011–2012

open access: yesEnvironmental Health Perspectives, 2016
Background: Exposure to environmental phenols (e.g., bisphenol A, benzophenone-3, and triclosan) and parabens is widespread in the population. Many of these chemicals have been shown to have anti-androgenic effects both in vitro and in vivo.

Telomere Length, Epigenetic Age Acceleration, and Mortality Risk in US Adult Populations: An Additive Bayesian Network Analysis

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Epigenetic DNA methylation‐based (DNAm) clocks, particularly GrimAge epigenetic age acceleration, outperform telomere length in predicting mortality across three US cohorts. Using Additive Bayesian Networks, we uncovered complex links among biological aging markers, sex, race, and mortality risk, highlighting the utility of DNAm‐based biomarkers in ...
