Ti-induced surface stabilization for Enhanced capacity of Aqueous-Processed Ni-Rich Cathodes

open access: yes
Aqueous processing offers an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional organic solvent-based methods for producing Ni-rich cathodes for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, interaction with water can drive phase reconstruction at the cathode

Defect‐Free Transfer Principles for Scalable, Thin Garnet‐Based Hybrid Solid Electrolytes in Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Defect‐free transfer principles enable scalable fabrication of 15 µm‐thin garnet‐based hybrid solid electrolytes. Hansen solubility parameters correlate interfacial compatibility with coating, transfer, and impregnation behavior, guiding rational selection of slurry/substrate, binder/substrate, and binder/polymer electrolyte combinations.

Engineering a Fluorinated AlPO4 Interface: Toward High Initial Coulombic Efficiency and Stable Oxygen Redox in Li‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a chemically incorporated fluorinated AlPO4 (AlPO4‐F) architecture that functions as a multifunctional “interfacial fortress” for Li‐rich layered oxides (LLOs). By modulating the surface potential to –32.16 mV, this architecture enriches Li+ concentration and repels detrimental electrolyte anions.

Yttrium-Mediated Bulk-Surface Stabilization of Ni-Rich Layered Cathodes for High-Voltage Lithium-Ion Batteries

open access: yes
Ni-rich layered oxide cathodes are promising for high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries, but their practical application is hindered by Li+/Ni2+ cation mixing, high-voltage lattice degradation, unstable cathode/electrolyte interphase, and rapid ...

Zwitterionic Polymer Coating Enabled Chronic Dopamine Sensing and Electrophysiology Recording in Free‐Moving Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Application of a zwitterionic poly(sulfobetaine methacrylate) (PSB) coating to microelectrode arrays and Ag/AgCl reference electrodes effectively inhibits biofouling and structural degradation. This strategy successfully enables simultaneous, long‐term electrophysiological recording and dopamine sensing in freely behaving mice, facilitating ...

Effects of dry and wet coating methods on surface degradation of Ni-rich cathodes in Li-ion rechargeable batteries

open access: yesFrontiers in Batteries and Electrochemistry
Ni-rich cathode materials have attracted significant attention as high energy density cathodes for lithium-ion batteries. However, Ni-rich cathode materials with a Ni content exceeding 80% have encountered challenges such as electrolyte side reactions ...

Single‐Chromophore Homojunction Organic Solar Cells: A Path to Simplicity and Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective discusses how the intrinsic optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductors, their molecular packing in the solid‐state, and internal energetic gradients within a device can enable free‐charge carrier generation in homojunction organic solar cells.

In Vivo Monitoring of Thrombo‐Inflammatory Biomarkers via Molecularly Imprinted Polymer‐Integrated Hydrogel Microneedles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A wearable electrochemical microneedle patch integrates Prussian Blue redox transduction with molecularly imprinted polymer recognition for reagent‐free sampling and detection of thrombo‐inflammatory biomarkers in dermal interstitial fluid. The platform tracks thrombin and inflammatory cytokines with sensitive in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo performance,
