Differential phase contrast (DPC) imaging in STEM is demonstrated as a rapid, versatile segmentation tool for advanced aluminum alloys. Decomposition of false‐color DPC micrographs resolves nanoclusters, precipitate variants, dislocation strain fields, nanostructures, and grain boundaries ‐ all within a single and fast acquisition.

Laser powder bed fusion of JIS SKD61 tool steel is systematically optimized using a Taguchi design and ANOVA. Hatch spacing and layer thickness are identified as dominant parameters controlling surface roughness and tensile strength. Subsequent tempering at 600°C improves microstructural stability and mechanical performance, enabling high‐density SKD61

Microstructure stability: Optimisation of 263 Ni-based superalloy
To reduce CO2 emissions on coal-fired power plant, A-ultra supercritical (A-USC) power plant whose steam conditions exceed 700 °C are being developed. At these elevated temperatures, the use of Ni-base superalloys becomes necessary.
