Lifetime Likelihood Computations With NIBRS
Justice Research and Policy, 2015This article explores the conditions and assumptions under which it is possible to use National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) in lifetime crime computations, particularly for nonfatal violent crimes. We describe methods for using NIBRS to study lifetime risk for a variety of crimes and show how researchers and policy makers can apply these ...

Methods for Understanding and Analyzing NIBRS Data
Journal of Quantitative Criminology, 1999The National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) is an incident-basedcrime reporting program for local, state, and federal law enforcementagencies. Within each criminal incident, NIBRS captures information onoffenses, victims, offenders, property, and persons arrested, as well asinformation about the incident itself. The ability to link and analyze

Assessing the Representativeness of NIBRS Arrest Data
Crime & Delinquency, 2017This article examines the coverage of the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) arrest data as of 2016. We use NIBRS and Uniform Crime Report (UCR), Summary Reporting System on persons arrested. We examine the correspondence of arrests measures between the UCR and NIBRS for overall arrests, and arrests by sex, race, and age.

NIBRS Data Available for Secondary Analysis
Journal of Quantitative Criminology, 1999The NIBRS data program currently being implemented by the FBI and local lawenforcement agencies has by now produced sufficient data for archiving anddistribution. Although not representative of crime in the United States, existing NIBRS data can be used to investigate the nature of crimesknown to the police compared to the traditional UCR data.

The New Dawn of NIBRS: Race/Ethnicity and Crime Patterns and the NIBRS Transition
Race and JusticeIn 2021, the FBI sought to retire the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) Summary Reporting System (SRS) and fully transition to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). However, it is unclear how this transition to a “NIBRS-only” system might impact statistics on race/ethnicity and crime in the United States.

The Role of State Programs in NIBRS Data Quality
Journal of Contemporary Criminal Justice, 2008This study explores the question of how the organization of state programs might positively influence the data quality of the state's incident-based reporting data and its National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) data submissions. To investigate this topic, the programs of two states (Tennessee and Vermont) identified as adept at resolving data

The Accuracy of Arrest Data in the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS)
Crime & Delinquency, 2022This study compared NIBRS arrest data in a statewide sample with arrest and summons data on the same cases collected directly from law enforcement agencies (LEAs). NIBRS matched LEA data in 84.1% of cases. However, 5.8% of LEA arrests and 52.9% of LEA summons were false negatives, that is, they were incorrectly represented as not cleared by arrest in ...

New band systems of NiBr molecule in visible region
Pramana, 1980Thermal emission spectrum of NiBr molecule excited by vacuum graphite tube furnace revealed the existence of ten new band sub-systems in the region λλ 5540-4720 A which were attributed toA→X,B→X,C→X andD→X transitions. Vibrational analysis was carried out for each of the systems mentioned above.A 2 Δ has been suggested as the ground ...

National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS)
The United States relies on the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) as the primary source of crime occurrence. In 2021, crime reporting in the United States transitioned from the Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) Program to NIBRS. In similar fashion, NIBRS data consist of crime known to law enforcement. Law enforcement agencies then report theseDrawve, Grant +2 more
