Gun Availability and Crime in West Virginia: An Examination of NIBRS Data
Justice Research and Policy, 2007The National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) data afford unique opportunities to inform crime analytic efforts. Recently reported relationships between the availability of firearms and violent crime constitute one such effort. While available criminological literature concerning the relationships between guns and crime are methodologically ...

Oxidative addition reactions of aryl halides on [NiBr(PPh3)3]
Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1984Abstract The oxidative addition of aryl halides RX, (R= 2,3-, 2,6-, or 3,5-C 6 H 3 Cl 2 , Ph, 2-MeC 6 H 4 ; X=I, Br) to [NiBr(PPh 3 ) 3 ] has been studied. The reaction of the iododichlorobenzenes give the organometallics [NiXR(PPh 3 ) 2 ]. The reactivity of the aryl halides decreases from RI to RBr; with RCl no reaction is observed.

Comprehensive theoretical studies on the low-lying electronic states of NiF, NiCl, NiBr, and NiI
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2006The low-lying electronic states of the nickel monohalides, i.e., NiF, NiCl, NiBr, and NiI, are investigated by using multireference second-order perturbation theory with relativistic effects taken into account. For the energetically lowest 11 Λ-S states and 26 Ω states thereinto, the potential energy curves and corresponding spectroscopic constants ...

The Effect of NIBRS Reporting on Item Missing Data in Murder Cases
Homicide Studies, 2004The Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR) is undergoing a large-scale conversion from the traditional summary system and its Supplementary Homicide Reports (SHR) to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). One goal in designing NIBRS was to improve the quality of crime data.

Examining National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Data
Justice Research and Policy, 2015The National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) has been a repository for crime data for almost 25 years. This work explores the uses and applications of these data to shed light on a variety of crime and policing issues since the data became available in the early to mid 1990s. Specific attention and discussion is devoted to some of the advances

Assessing the Extent of Nonresponse Bias on NIBRS Estimates of Violent Crime
Journal of Contemporary Criminal Justice, 2008More than two decades ago, the U.S. Department of Justice released its recommendations for a new data collection method for the Uniform Crime Reporting Program that would become the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). The full potential of NIBRS data has not been realized based on assumptions that these data are inherently biased due to a
