Assessing the Representativeness of NIBRS Arrest Data

Crime & Delinquency, 2017
This article examines the coverage of the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) arrest data as of 2016. We use NIBRS and Uniform Crime Report (UCR), Summary Reporting System on persons arrested. We examine the correspondence of arrests measures between the UCR and NIBRS for overall arrests, and arrests by sex, race, and age.

New band systems of NiBr molecule in visible region

Pramana, 1980
Thermal emission spectrum of NiBr molecule excited by vacuum graphite tube furnace revealed the existence of ten new band sub-systems in the region λλ 5540-4720 A which were attributed toA→X,B→X,C→X andD→X transitions. Vibrational analysis was carried out for each of the systems mentioned above.A 2 Δ has been suggested as the ground ...

The New Dawn of NIBRS: Race/Ethnicity and Crime Patterns and the NIBRS Transition

Race and Justice
In 2021, the FBI sought to retire the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) Summary Reporting System (SRS) and fully transition to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). However, it is unclear how this transition to a “NIBRS-only” system might impact statistics on race/ethnicity and crime in the United States.

The Role of State Programs in NIBRS Data Quality

Journal of Contemporary Criminal Justice, 2008
This study explores the question of how the organization of state programs might positively influence the data quality of the state's incident-based reporting data and its National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) data submissions. To investigate this topic, the programs of two states (Tennessee and Vermont) identified as adept at resolving ...

National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS)

The United States relies on the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) as the primary source of crime occurrence. In 2021, crime reporting in the United States transitioned from the Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) Program to NIBRS. In similar fashion, NIBRS data consist of crime known to law enforcement. Law enforcement agencies then report these

Oxidative addition reactions of aryl halides on [NiBr(PPh3)3]

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1984
Abstract The oxidative addition of aryl halides RX, (R= 2,3-, 2,6-, or 3,5-C 6 H 3 Cl 2 , Ph, 2-MeC 6 H 4 ; X=I, Br) to [NiBr(PPh 3 ) 3 ] has been studied. The reaction of the iododichlorobenzenes give the organometallics [NiXR(PPh 3 ) 2 ]. The reactivity of the aryl halides decreases from RI to RBr; with RCl no reaction is observed.

The dielectric properties of NiBr and FeI boracite single crystals

Ferroelectrics, 1980
Abstract Single crystals of NiBr and FeI boracites have been grown using a sealed-ampoule, vapour phase transport technique. Small polished plates cut from FeI boracite crystals have been poled using the Camlibel high voltage pulse technique. Measurements of the pyroelectric and dielectric properties of these crystals are presented as functions of ...

Examining National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Data

Justice Research and Policy, 2015
The National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) has been a repository for crime data for almost 25 years. This work explores the uses and applications of these data to shed light on a variety of crime and policing issues since the data became available in the early to mid 1990s. Specific attention and discussion is devoted to some of the advances

The Band Spectra of NiCl and NiBr in the Visible

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1960
The emission spectra of NiCl and NiBr in the region λ3900-4800 A have been photographed under high dispersion. The spectrum of NiCl consists of nine separate brief systems of bands while the NiBr spectrum consists of six systems of bands. The observed bromine isotope effect in three of the band systems of the NiBr molecule confirms the vibrational ...
