Oxygen Reactivity of a Nickel(II)−Polyoximate Complex

The ligand tris(2-hydroxyiminopropyl)amine (Ox(3)H(3)) binds to nickel(II) in multiple protonation states. In the neutral state, the X-ray crystal structure of the monomeric complex [Ni(Ox(3)H(3))(NO(3))(H(2)O)](NO(3)).(H(2)O), 1, has six-coordinate pseudo-octahedral geometry, with binding of the amine and three oxime nitrogens, a nitrate, and a water.

Two furopyridine complexes of nickel(II) isothiocyanate

Pyridine fused with a furan ring (fupy), and its dimethyl derivative, have been used for the first time as ligands to synthesize potentially new Werner clathrates. The extended aromatic system of pyridine-like ligands influences considerably the molecular structure of prepared nickel complexes.
