To investigate hydrogeological properties of exposed lithological units, the geological and hydrogeological mapping, at a scale of 1/25000 of an area about 655 km2 were carried out. The study area lies on the `North Anatolian Fault Zone`.

Properties of the clayey alluvial soils of the Niksar basin located at the right bank of the Kelkit River were investigated. The study consisted of both field and laboratory investigation programs. During these investigations, soil profiles were constructed and distribution of clayey soils were identified.

Bu çalışmada, yapısal davranışını ve depreme karşı dayanımını belirleyebilmek için, Anadolu'nun tuğla ile inşa edilmiş önemli örneklerinden biri olan Niksar Kırk Kızlar Türbesi'nin yapısal analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Seçilen yapı, SAP2000 bilgisayar programında sonlu elemanlar yöntemiyle modellenerek analizi yapılmıştır.
