Hydrotreating reactions of tall oils over commercial NiMo catalyst [PDF]
AbstractCatalytic hydrotreating is an attractive method for upgrading bio‐derived oils into renewable feedstocks with less oxygen content, suitable for producing valuable hydrocarbons through various petro‐refinery processes. This study evaluates the catalytic activity of a commercial alumina (Al2O3) supported NiMo catalyst for hydrotreating tall oil ...

Unraveling the Origin of Exceptional Activity in NiMo Alloys for Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution
This study resolves the controversy regarding the active origin of Nickel‐molybdenum (NiMo) alloys for alkaline hydrogen evolution. By combining surface Pourbaix diagrams with microkinetic modeling, we demonstrate that the O‐covered Ni3Mo surface drives activity through a synergistic mechanism: Mo sites facilitate water dissociation while adjacent Ni ...

This study highlights the effectiveness of Zn‐induced dendrite layers in enhancing the durability of NiMo HER catalysts under dynamic electrochemical conditions. Through in situ dendritic passivation, the Zn‐NiMo catalyst preserves catalytic active sites and mitigates irreversible Ni oxidation/hydroxylation during repeated load fluctuation.
