Ab-initio calculations for structural properties of Zr-Nb alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Ab-initio calculations for the structural properties of Zr-Nb alloys at different values of the niobium concentration are done at zero temperature. Different cases for Zr-Nb alloys with unit cells having BCC and HCP structures are considered.

Alloy Formation by Electrodeposition of Niobium and Aluminium on Gold from Chloroaluminate Melts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2017
Niobium and aluminium have been electrodeposited from inorganic chloroaluminate melts onto gold substrate at 473 K. The melts were prepared from an equimolar mixture of AlCl3+NaCl with niobium added by anodic dissolution.

Manipulating the carrier concentration and phase transition via Nb content in SrTiO3

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
SrTiO3 is a model of the perovskite-like compounds for structural transition which inducing the intriguing physical properties around the critical phase transition temperature TAFD (antiferrodistortive, abbrev. as AFD). Here we report that the electrical

The oxidative coupling of methane and the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane over a niobium promoted lithium doped magnesium oxide catalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The promoting effect of niobium in a Li/MgO catalyst for the oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) and for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane (ODHE) has been studied in some detail.

Diamond Magnetometry of Meissner Currents in a Superconducting Film [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study magnetic field penetration into a thin film made of a superconducting niobium. Imaging of magnetic field is performed by optically detecting magnetic resonances of negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy defects inside a single crystal diamond ...

Mechanical and microstructural characterization of Nodular Cast Iron (NCI) with Niobium Additions [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2014
Nodular cast irons (NCIs) involve the inoculation and nodulization of 0.03 to 0.06wt% Magnesium, as well as the addition of Molybdenum, Chromium, Nickel, Copper and Vanadium, although the presence of Niobium is not common.

THE DETERMINATION OF NIOBIUM IN URANIUM NIOBIUM ALLOYS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1958
The niobium-uranium alloy is dissolved in hydrofluoric nitric acids and the fluoride removed by fuming sulfuric acid. The niobium is hydrolyzed in an acid-sulfur dioxide medium and converted to niobic oxide by ignition at 900 deg C. The method covers the determination of niobium in niobium-uranium alloys having a niobium content of 8 to 12%.
