NIPT and Informed Consent: an Assessment of Patient Understanding of a Negative NIPT Result

Journal of Genetic Counseling, 2016
AbstractSince becoming clinically available in 2011, the use of noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT) to screen for fetal aneuploidy has continued to increase. However, it has been questioned whether the education of patients undergoing NIPT consistently meets informed consent standards.

Kinetics of ordering in NiPt

Journal of Materials Science, 1972
The kinetics of ordering for an almost equiatomic NiPt alloy were measured by X-ray diffraction. The measurements were carried out at the temperature of annealing between 390 and 570° C.

Adaptive Crystal Structures: CuAu and NiPt

Physical Review Letters, 2003
We discover that Au-rich Cu1-xAux and Pt-rich Ni1-xPtx contain a composition range in which there is a quasicontinuum of stable, ordered "adaptive structures" made of (001) repeat units of simple structural motifs. This is found by searching approximately 3x10(6) different fcc configurations whose energies are parametrized via a "cluster expansion" of ...

Unique Challenges of NIPT for Sex Chromosome Aneuploidy

Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2023
Noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT) for the sex chromosome aneuploidies (45,X, 47,XXY, 47,XXX, and 47,XYY) differs significantly from that for the autosomal aneuploidies (trisomy 13, 18, and 21). As a group, sex chromosome aneuploidies occur more commonly (1/400) than any one isolated autosomal aneuploidy, the phenotypic variation is greater, the role ...

Origins of compositional order in NiPt alloys

Physical Review Letters, 1991
We investigate the cause of compositional ordering in fcc ${\mathrm{Ni}}_{0.50}$${\mathrm{Pt}}_{0.50}$ on the basis of a first-principles theory of electronic structure and finite-temperature concentration fluctuations. We treat the size effect, electronegativity, and band filling on an equal footing and find that the first of these dominates, leading ...

Magnetic properties of ordered NiPt

Physica B+C, 1988
Abstract Thermal expansion, forced volume magnetostriction and high magnetic field data are presented on the ordered equiatomic NiPt compound. Values are derived for the magnetovolume parameter κ C (≃3 × 10−6 kg2 A−2 m−4), and for the electronic and lattice Gruneisen parameters (Γ e ≊ 5.6; Γ latt ≊ 2.5) .

Nichtinvasiver pränataler Test – NIPT

2017
