The Nirbhayas of Bhagana: An illustration of the continuing cycle of Dalit oppression
On May 21, 2012, more than 52 Dalit-backward families were forced to leave their village after a dispute with dominant caste people in the Bhagana (Bhagana) village of Haryana. The dispute started with the removal of possession of Shamlat land. The dominant caste people had excommunicated the Dalits and OBCs of the village.
