Triaxial bulges in the NIR

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1999
We studied a sample of 14 non-interacting spiral galaxies with the aim of searching triaxial bulges. From the existence of triaxiality we are able to put a lower and upper limits on the central black hole to bulge mass ratio, M BH /M bul ,in the host galaxy.

High-throughput NIR spectroscopic (NIRS) detection of microplastics in soil

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2018
The increasing pollution of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems with plastic debris leads to the accumulation of microscopic plastic particles of still unknown amount. To monitor the degree of contamination, analytical methods are urgently needed, which help to quantify microplastics (MP).

Neuro-NIRS: Analysis of Neural Activities Using NIRS

2009
Analysis method for quick component of NIRS is explained. In order to compare quantitatively the amount of quick component, absolute average operation is applied. The result Q is then formulated as the product of magnitude M and density D. By characteristic differences of M and D functional features of each channel are discussed.

Pure NIR to NIR Upconverting Bi5O7I:Tm3+, Yb3+ Nanophosphors

ECS Solid State Letters, 2013
(y = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5%) nanophosphors were synthesized by solvent thermal method. The crystalline structure of samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) (Bruker D8-Advance diffractometer using Cu Kα (λ = 1.5406 A) radiation). The morphology and particle sizes were determined by a transmission electron microscopy (TEM, JEM-2100).

SHARK-NIR: SHARK-NIR Requirements to the LBT - PSR

2023
SHARK is an instrument proposed for LBT in the framework of the “2014 Call for Proposals for Instrument Upgrades and New Instruments” (see RD1 and RD2). It is composed by two channels, a visible and a near infrared arm, to be installed one for each LBT telescope, and it will exploit, in its binocular fashion, unique challenging science from exoplanet ...
