A Si anode comprising entangled networks of cellulose and SWCNT (C‐CNT) nanocomposites as an anode electrode for a high‐performance LIB is realized by fully utilizing the generated microstructure of a novel conductive 3D scaffold via a low‐temperature and eco‐friendly process. Additionally, localized heating via photo‐thermal conversion can be utilized

A Cu‐based crystal‐glass composite with high‐density twins is identified by a fast screening technique using combinatorial sputtering together with XRD and nanoindentation mapping. This bamboo‐like structure demonstrates homogenous plastic flow and retains high strength during in situ high temperature tests, up to 1 GPa at 550°C, owing to those ...

First measurements of the flux integral with the NIST-4 watt balance
In early 2014, construction of a new watt balance, named NIST-4, has started at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In a watt balance, the gravitational force of an unknown mass is compensated by an electromagnetic force produced ...

A Pseudo Random Numbers Generator Based on Chaotic Iterations. Application to Watermarking [PDF]
In this paper, a new chaotic pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) is proposed. It combines the well-known ISAAC and XORshift generators with chaotic iterations. This PRNG possesses important properties of topological chaos and can successfully pass NIST

The NIST compilation of ionization potentials revisited (I): From He-like to Xe-like ions
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) database on ionization potentials for neutral atoms and ions is examined. For each isoelectronic sequence, we construct a regularized perturbative series that exactly matches the large-$Z$ and $Z ...

Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.
