High‐Tc Superinductors Through Tailored Metamaterial Losses

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a loss‐engineering approach for designing high‐temperature superconducting superinductors using YBCO metamaterials. By analyzing radiative and ohmic losses through coupled‐mode theory, the study reveals that partial ohmic loss supports superinductance in thinner films.

The Role of Porosity in SERS

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores how engineered porous materials enhance surface‐enhanced Raman scatering (SERS) spectroscopy by synergizing analyte enrichment and electromagnetic field amplification. It is systematically evaluated four classes, nanoporous metals, plasmonic polymers, mesoporous silica, and metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), highlighting their unique

Modal and Reflective Properties of Capacitive and Inductive Terahertz Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The propagation regimes of inductive and capacitive metasurfaces are analyzed to reveal the existence of leaky and plasmonic modes. The subtle connection between plasmonic modes and quasi bound‐in‐the‐continuum modes is also disclosed. Experimental validation is carried out through terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy where the frequency shiftof leaky ...
