Nonoxide Sol-Gel Synthesis of Terbium-Doped Silicon Nitride Phosphors
Exposure of solutions of Tb(N(SiMe3)2)3 with SiCl(NEt2)3 in tetrahydrofuran to dry ammonia results in polymeric xerogels. Heating these gels in ammonia leads to amorphous Tb:SiNx phosphors that exhibit bright green luminescence under UV irradiation.

This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

Effects of Ohmic Contact Formation between GaN Photocatalyst and Pt Cocatalyst
A model photocatalyst composed of n-type GaN thin film as a photocatalyst body with a comb shaped electrode composed of Pt layer or Pt/Ti bilayer on the surface was successfully prepared, and photocatalytic and electric properties are investigated ...

Die pressing and mechanical behaviour of silicon nitride
S.523-528Ceramics are usually produced by pressing the powder in a die and sintering the resulting green body. A homogeneous density distribution after pressing is an important prerequisite to obtain equal shrinkage resulting in a final product which ...

The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...
