Reduction‐Nitridation Synthesis of Titanium Nitride Nanocrystals

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2003
Titanium nitride (TiN) particles (8 nm) were prepared via a reduction‐nitridation route in an autoclave at 500°C, using TiCl 4 , NH 4 Cl, and metal Na as reactants.

Homogeneous Dispersion of Gallium Nitride Nanoparticles in a Boron Nitride Matrix by Nitridation with Urea

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010
A Gallium Nitride (GaN) dispersed boron nitride (BN) nanocomposite powder was synthesized by heating a mixture of gallium nitrate, boric acid, and urea in a hydrogen atmosphere. Before heat treatment, crystalline phases of urea, boric acid, and gallium nitrate were recognized, but an amorphous material was produced by heat treatment at 400 degrees C ...

Niobium nitride/aluminum nitride superlattices

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
ABSTRACT DC reactive magnetron sputtering has been used to prepare niobium nitride/aluminium nitride superconductor/insulatorsuperlattices. Deposition conditions were optimized in order that multilayer fabrication could be achieved by simplecomputer control of the substrate positioning beneath each sputtering target.Transport measurements in the mixed ...

Preparation of Lutetium Nitride by Direct Nitridation

Journal of Materials Research, 2004
Lutetium nitride (LuN), an end member of a new quaternary system Si3N4–SiO2–Lu2O3–LuN, was synthesized by direct nitridation of a lutetium metal. The nitridation extent of the lutetium ingot (10 × 5 × 2 mm) reached about 97% by heating at 1600 °C for 8 h with an applied N2 pressure of 0.92 MPa; the initial shape of the bulk metal was maintained in the ...

Effect of NiS addition on nitridation of alumina to aluminum nitride using polymeric carbon nitride as a nitridation reagent

Ceramics International, 2016
Abstract We investigated the effect of adding nickel(II) sulfide (NiS) on nitridation of alumina (Al2O3) to aluminum nitride (AlN) using polymeric carbon nitride (PCN), which was synthesized by polymerization of dicyandiamide at 500 °C. The product powders obtained from nitridation of a mixture of δ-Al2O3 and NiS powders (mole ratio of 1:0.01) at ...

Investigation of nitriding directly in the nitriding process

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1982
1. We designed an apparatus and method of determining the phase composition at nitriding temperature. 2. At the beginning of the nitriding process (0.5 h) all phases corresponding to the Fe−N phase diagram are observed in Armco iron and the steels tested.

Desulfurization on Boron Nitride and Boron Nitride‐based Materials

Chemistry – An Asian Journal, 2020
AbstractCombustion of liquid fuels containing sulfur compounds is highly unfavorable due to the adverse effects caused by the resultant SOx emission. Consequently, catalytic and adsorptive materials having the capacity to eliminate the sulfur compounds from liquid fuels are very attractive.

Iron nitrides and laser nitriding of steel

Hyperfine Interactions, 1998
Nitriding of iron and steels is well known to improve hardness, wear and corrosion resistance of surfaces. Recently, it has been found that a simple irradiation of iron and steel with pulses of an excimer laser in air or nitrogen leads to a significant nitrogen take-up into the surface and to improvements in the surface properties.

Titanium nitride-molybdenum metallizing method for aluminium nitride

Proceedings. Japan IEMT Symposium, Sixth IEEE/CHMT International Electronic Manufacturing Technology Symposium, 1990
A paste containing molybdenum (Mo) and titanium nitride (TiN) powders was printed on aluminium nitride (AlN) substrates and fired. The adhesive strength of substrates metallized with Ni/Au plate was about 25 kg/2.5 mm/sup 2/ and was unchanged after a thermal cycle test.
