Deoxyribonucleic acid in Nitrobacter carboxysomes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1979
Carboxysomes were isolated from Nitrobacter winogradskyi and Nitrobacter agilis. The icosahedral particles contained double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). In the presence of ethidium bromide and cesium chloride, the particle-bound DNA had a buoyant density of rho 25 = 1.701 g/cm3.

Water quality assessment of East Kolkata Wetland with a special focus on bioremediation by nitrifying bacteria

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2021
East Kolkata Wetlands (EKW) is designated as International Ramsar site and are the hotspot for large-scale wastewater aquaculture practices. However, the continued surveillance of physicochemical properties of water and application of an eco-friendly ...

A Comprehensive Study of Biohopanoid Production in Alphaproteobacteria: Biosynthetic, Chemotaxonomical, and Geobiological Implications. [PDF]

open access: yesGeobiology
ABSTRACT Bacteriohopanepolyol derivatives (BHPDs) and dia‐ and catagenetic products formed from these bacterial membrane modifiers are extensively used as biomarkers in molecular ecological and geoscience studies. Some BHPDs can be assigned to specific phylogenetic bacterial groups. With the vastly increasing availability of complete bacterial genomes,

Molecular Phylogenetic Analysis of Nitrobacter spp. [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1994
The phylogeny of bacteria belonging to the genus Nitrobacter was investigated by sequencing the whole 16S rRNA gene. The average level of similarity for the three Nitrobacter strains examined was high (99.2%), and the similarity level between Nitrobacter winogradskyi and Nitrobacter sp. strain LL, which represent two different genomic species, was even

Short Communication: Biochemistry Analysis and Molecular Approach to Identify the Cultured Bacterial from Ex-Tin Mining Lakes

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Lingkungan, 2022
There are two methods to identify the bacterial characteristic, namely biochemical analysis and the 16S ribosomal ribonucleic acid gene (16S rRNA) sequencing analysis.

The Morphology of Nitrobacter winogradskyi [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1959
SUMMARY: The recently isolated organism of the second phase of nitrification is identified as Nitrobacter winogradskyi Buch. The organism reproduces by polar budding and possesses a distinct and easily demonstrated nucleus. The life cycle includes alternation of motile and non-motile stages.

Icosahedral inclusions (carboxysomes) of Nitrobacter agilis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1977
The icosahedral bodies of Nitrobacter agilis are about 120 nm in diameter and, as viewed by electron microscopy, consist of an outer shell enclosing 10-nm particles. The inner 10-nm particle is the enzyme D-ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase. The bodies isolated from cells incubated 1 month without nitrite had a specific activity for the enzyme of 0.

Response of Nitrifier and Denitrifier Abundance to Salinity Gradients in Agricultural Soils at the Yellow River Estuary

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Salinization is considered a threat to agricultural soil and decreases crop yield worldwide. Nitrification and denitrification are the core processes of soil N-cycle.

Pembuatan Nitrobacter untuk Pertanian Berkelanjutan

open access: yesJATIMAS : Jurnal Pertanian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat, 2023
Along with the use of chemical fertilizers, it hurts the environment and agricultural ecosystem. Increased awareness of the damage caused by synthetic chemical fertilizers has encouraged the search for more sustainable alternatives, such as organic fertilizers and the role of microorganisms such as Nitrobacteria in agriculture.

Nitrite-Oxidizing Bacteria Community Composition and Diversity Are Influenced by Fertilizer Regimes, but Are Independent of the Soil Aggregate in Acidic Subtropical Red Soil

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
Nitrification is the two-step aerobic oxidation of ammonia to nitrate via nitrite in the nitrogen-cycle on earth. However, very limited information is available on how fertilizer regimes affect the distribution of nitrite oxidizers, which are involved in
