Nitrocellulose blocking for improved membrane stability.
The specifics of each nitrocellulose block can be seen in S1 Table in S1 File. These membranes were stored at 40°C in a sealed mylar bag containing desiccant. Reduced performance is seen in nitrocellulose block 2 and 4 at Day 0.

Nitrocellulose redox permanganometry: A simple method for reductive capacity assessment [PDF]
We propose a rapid, simple, and robust method for measurement of the reductive capacity of liquid and solid biological samples based on potassium permanganate reduction followed by trapping of manganese dioxide precipitate on a nitrocellulose membrane ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Towards realistic atomistic models of nitrocellulose degradation processes
Computational chemical modelling has many uses, including in situations involving chemicals that are unstable and mechanisms and reactions are hard to detect. A specific case is the degradation of nitrocellulose, a high energy material.
