Combination of Nitrogen-15-labelled Nitrogen Mustard with Proteins

Nature, 1951
THE nitrogen mustards readily inactivate certain enzymes1 and they also react with many other proteins2, including the components of haemolytic complement3. Although it has been established by various investigators that the amino, sulphydryl, sulphide, carboxyl and pyridine groups of proteins are affected by the action of the nitrogen mustards4, there ...

Application of nitrogen-15 NMR to polymers

2005
A large number of polymers for commercial use as well as biological macromolecules are based on nitrogen containing monomers. Thus, the understanding of their structure and molecular dynamics is of great importance. Practical observation of low natural abundance and sensitivity of 15N isotope was made possible with the development of Fourier Transform ...

Automatic nitrogen-15 analyser for use in biological research

The Analyst, 1986
An automatic nitrogen-15 analyser capable of analysing 12–20 samples per hour has been developed. The generation of pure nitrogen gas from the sample is carried out automatically, the nitrogen isotope ratio is determined by emission spectrometry and the results are calculated as atom-% nitrogen-15.
