Nitrogen removal in an oxidation ditch
2010 2nd International Conference on Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering, 2010The aim of this study is to obtain a good description of nitrogen removal in a full scale oxidation ditch of 1300 m3 for later optimization. Different Data are collected and exploitation chart of this WWTP are used to analyze the working conditions. An intensive measuring campaign was investigated to describe the dynamic behavior.

Biological nitrogen removal from wastewater
1994A review of the research on the kinetics of nitrification and denitrification is presented including an explanation of reaction engineering models. The results of laboratory scale experiments with high rate nitrification processes are discussed using kinetic results for oxygen limitation as well as for substrate limitation and inhibition.

The Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus by Soils
1985It has been found that soils play a significant role in solving certain environmental problems. It may be seen, for example, that soils remove nitrogen and phosphorus from solutions in an efficient and economical manner.

Technologies for Sidestream Nitrogen Removal
Water Intelligence Online, 2016Liquid streams (known as “reject water” or “sidestream”) generated by the dewatering of digested solids generally contain high levels of ammonia and phosphorus. These liquids can be treated in separate or sidestream processes rather than being directly returned to the mainstream treatment process.
