MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Reducing dietary crude protein levels while meeting metabolizable protein requirements: Performance of dairy cows over a full lactation period

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: A total of 90 Holstein dairy cows (24 primiparous, 66 multiparous, mean parity = 3.0) were fed diets containing either 150, 160, or 170 g CP/kg DM from 8 to 180 DIM, with all diets designed to supply at least 100% MP requirements. On d 181, half of the

Copper Doping Enhances the Activity and Selectivity of Atomically Precise Ag44 Nanoclusters for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By a simple anti‐Galvanic reaction, up to six copper atoms could be preferably doped into the Ag2(SR)5 staple motifs and Ag20 dodecahedral shell of an atomically precise Ag44(SR)30 nanocluster. When anatase TiO2 is used as substrate, the (AgCu)44/TiO2 photocatalyst exhibited much improved activity in photocatalytic CO2 reduction compared to Ag44/TiO2 ...

Perennial Forage Trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In 2015, the University of Vermont Extension Northwest Crops and Soils Program initiated a trial investigating forage yield, quality, and nitrogen use efficiency of cool season perennial grasses alone and in combination with red clover. The grass species

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Self‐supportive Three‐Way Photoelectrochemical System Achieving Uranium Recycling, Organic Oxidation, and Electricity Generation in Complex Waters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐sustaining solar photoelectrochemical cell (SS‐PEC) is developed to recover uranium from aqueous UO22+ with concurrent organic oxidation and electricity production. The monolithical photoanode directly captures electrons from organic compounds, leading to the oxidation of organic compounds and the decomposition of uranium‐organic complexes ...

Potential Contributions of Residual Soil Nitrogen to Subsequent Ratoon Sugarcane Crops in the Wet Subtropics

open access: yesAgronomy
Nitrogen (N) fertiliser recommendations for ratoon sugarcane crops in the Australian subtropics do not specifically account for residual soil N. The present study was undertaken to determine whether residual soil N is sufficiently high to warrant ...
