Adsorption and reduction of m-nitrophenol at the dropping mercury electrode

Electrochimica Acta, 1968
Abstract m-Nitrophenol is adsorbed at the dme, and lowers the double-layer capacitance, at potentials more positive than its reduction potential. At that potential, a ditterential-capacitance peak appears that is partly faradaic in origin and partly due to the “desorption” (through reduction) of the m-nitrophenol.

Polyethyleneimine-stabilized palladium nanoparticles for reduction of 4-nitrophenol

Transition Metal Chemistry, 2019
Palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs) have been drawing great interest as catalysts for water treatment. Herein, high molecular weight polyethyleneimine (PEI) (molecular weight: 70 kDa) was used as template to stabilize Pd NPs. PEI was incubated with disodium tetrachloropalladate, followed by reduction with sodium borohydride.

Catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol by palladium-resin composites

Applied Catalysis A: General, 2017
Abstract Catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) by palladium-resin catalysts is promising for 4-NP detoxification, in situ regeneration of the catalysts, and recycling of the products. In this study, we examined the catalytic reduction of 4-NP by Pd 0 -based catalysts supported on three neutral resins and two anion exchange resins, using ...

Insights into the reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol on catalysts

Chemical Physics Letters, 2017
Abstract New insights for the mechanism of nitro to amino groups conversion have been revealed on both N-doped graphene and Ag nanoparticles catalysts, based on the paper assisted ultrasonic spray ionization mass spectrometry: (1) water molecules not NaBH 4 are the hydrogen source for the reduced amino groups, (2) NaBH 4 could contribute to the ...

Electrochemical Reduction of M‐Nitrophenol in Buffered Aqueous Solutions

Bulletin des Sociétés Chimiques Belges, 1984
AbstractA study on the electrochemical reduction of m‐nitrophenol on a mercury electrode in buffered aqueous solutions, has been carried out, focusing on the zone of potentials corresponding to the rising portion of the wave (i/iL<0.05), whose corresponding kinetic parameters allow us to suggest a reduction mechanism for each of the pH‐ranges of 0–1,
