Lipophilicity of the Nitrophenols

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2000
The lipophilicity of the nitrophenols, expressed as a water-solvent partition coefficient, P, has been investigated using the solvation equation, log P = c + eE + sS + aA + bB + vV. It is shown that this equation accounts quantitatively for lipophilicity in a selection of water-solvent systems, viz: octanol, 1,2-dichloroethane, and cyclohexane.

Nitrophenols in precipitation

Chemosphere, 2001
From 1995 to 1998 the concentrations of 4-nitrophenol, 2-methyl-4-nitrophenol, 3-methyl-4-nitrophenol, dinitro-ortho-cresol (DNOC) and 2,4-di-nitrophenol were measured monthly by HPLC in precipitation at eight different locations in Bavaria (Germany).

Nitrophenols in Air and Rainwater

Environmental Engineering Science, 2006
Liquid chromatography coupled to a photodiode array detector (HPLC-DAD) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization ion sources (LC-APCI-MS) were used for the determination of a variety of nitrophenols in air and rainwater samples after solid-phase extraction using silica gel and XAD-7 resin adsorbents (rainwater).

Solid-liquid equilibria in mixtures of biphenyl + p-nitrophenol, +m-nitrophenol, +o-nitrophenol, and phenanthrene + p-nitrophenol at atmospheric pressure

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1980
Abstract Solid-liquid equilibria for biphenyl + p -nitrophenol, + m -nitrophenol, + o -nitrophenol and for phenanthrene + p -nitrophenol at atmospheric pressure have been obtained by the cooling-curve method. The results for biphenyl + p -nitrophenol, biphenyl + m -nitrophenol, and phenanthrene + p -nitrophenol reveal the formation of a 1-1 ...

Solar Absorption by Aerosol-Bound Nitrophenols Compared to Aqueous and Gaseous Nitrophenols

Environmental Science & Technology, 2016
Nitrophenols are well-known absorbers of near-UV/blue radiation and are considered to be a component of solar-absorbing organic aerosol material commonly labeled brown carbon. Nitrophenols have been identified in a variety of phases in earth's atmosphere, including the gaseous, aqueous, and aerosol bound, and these different environments alter their UV-

Bacterial degradation of nitrophenols and their derivatives

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2014
This review intends to provide an overview of bacterial degradation of nitrophenols (NPs) and their derivatives. The main scientific focus is on biochemical and genetic characterization of bacterial degradation of NPs. Other aspects such as bioremediation and chemotaxis correlated with biodegradation of NPs are also discussed. This review will increase
