Toxic phenolic compounds in the Egyptian coastal waters of Alexandria:spatial distribution, source identification, and ecological risk assessment

open access: yesWater Science, 2022
Poor published data are available for the detections of toxic phenolic compounds in the Egyptian Mediterranean Coast. Seasonal and spatial distributions of eight driven toxic phenolic compounds in coastal waters of Alexandria from ten different locations,

Icariin Enhances the Enzymatic Activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase to Augment Akkermansia Abundance in Gut Microbiota for Improved PD‐1 Blockade Efficacy in Tumor Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with

Targeting Golgi–STING Signaling to Reprogram Innate and Adaptive Immunity for the Treatment of Implant‐Associated Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an ultrasound‐responsive nanoplatform, CS‐BT@MZ@NEs, with a BaTiO3/Mn‐Zif‐8 core and a chondroitin sulfate coating for Golgi targeting. By leveraging neutrophil hitchhiking, it enables targeted delivery to infection sites. Under ultrasound stimulation, CS‐BT@MZ@NEs generates ROS and modulates Golgi pH to activate cGAS–STING ...

Dual‐Substrate Synergistic Photocatalysis: Exogenous Reagent‐Free Co‐Removal of Phenol and Cr(VI) via Electron‐Donor‐Mediated Redox Coupling over Modified Carbon Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An exogenous reagent‐free dual‐substrate strategy harnesses phenol as an intrinsic electron donor to drive synchronous phenol degradation and Cr(VI) reduction over modified carbon nitride. π–π stacking and hydrogen bonding direct electron transfer to the catalyst, enriching photogenerated electrons and accelerating Cr(VI) reduction 6.4‐fold. This waste‐

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Zinc‐Mediated Photodegradation of Nitrophenols in Aqueous Solution: Devising Environmental Mitigation Strategies With Ultrafast Spectroscopic Insights

open access: yesElectron
Nitrophenols are environmental pollutants found in waterways and the atmosphere, which can be a significant source of nitrous acid under UV light. In this work, we investigate nitrophenols in aqueous solution upon UV irradiation with a suite of steady ...

NOVOS HÍBRIDOS BASEADOS EM OXIHIDRÓXIDO DE FERRO(III) E NANOPARTÍCULAS DE OURO (AuNPs/FeOOH) COMO CATALISADORES PARA A REDUÇÃO DE POLUENTES ORGÂNICOS AMBIENTAIS

open access: yesQuímica Nova
A new δ-FeOOH supported nano-Au catalyst was prepared by a facile method using HAuCl4 as the gold source and NaBH4 as the reducing agent. The samples (denoted as AuNPs/FeOOH) were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis and infrared ...
