Novel Phenotypes of Acute Respiratory Failure and Differential Response to Awake Prone Positioning: A Multi‐Cohort Study

Two novel clinical phenotypes in non‐intubated patients with acute respiratory failure were identified and validated across three independent cohorts. Phenotype 2 was associated with worse oxygenation, coagulation dysfunction, higher lactate, and significantly higher intubation and mortality rates within 28 days compared to Phenotype 1.
