Some novel integration techniques to explore the conformable M-fractional Schrödinger-Hirota equation

open access: yesJournal of Ocean Engineering and Science, 2022
The current study deals with exact soliton solutions for Schrödinger-Hirota (SH) equation via two modified integration methods. Those methods are known as the improved (G′/G)-expansion method and the Kudryashov method. This model is a generalized version

Somatostatin receptor 4 (SSTR4) is a tumor suppressor in cutaneous and head & neck squamous cell carcinomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).

Long time behavior of the NLS-Szegö equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We are interested in the influence of filtering the positive Fourier modes to the integrable non linear Schrödinger equation. Equivalently, we want to study the effect of dispersion added to the cubic Szegö equation, leading to the NLS-Szegö equation on ...

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...

Justification of the NLS Approximation for the Euler–Poisson Equation

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 2019
The nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation can be derived as a formal approximation equation describing the envelopes of slowly modulated spatially and temporarily oscillating wave packet-like solutions to the ion Euler-Poisson equation. In this paper, we rigorously justify such approximation by giving error estimates in Sobolev norms between exact ...

Numerical study of two‐dimensional stochastic NLS equations [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations, 2005
AbstractIn this article, we numerically solve the two‐dimensional stochastic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the case of multiplicative and additive white noises. The aim is to investigate their influence on well‐known deterministic solutions: stationary states and blowing‐up solutions.

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Local minimizers for the NLS equation with localized nonlinearity on noncompact metric graphs

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
We investigate the existence of local minimizers for the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with localized nonlinearity on noncompact metric graphs. In the absence of ground states, we prove that normalized local minimizers of the NLS equation do exist

Instability of Double-Periodic Waves in the Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2021
It is shown how to compute the instability rates for the double-periodic solutions to the cubic NLS (nonlinear Schrödinger) equation by using the Lax linear equations.
