On the conformation of the cellulose solvent N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) in solution
Polymer, 2003Abstract The N-oxide group of the cellulose solvent N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide showed a strong preference for the axial position compared with N-methyl as determined by NMR experiments and computational studies. In solvents with negligible solvent–solute interaction, about 95% of the NMMO molecules obtained a typical chair conformation with an axial ...

Innovation and Knowledge Management Within the Framework of NMMO
The exploratory study aims to analyze the impact of integrating knowledge management practices and new modes of management and organization (NMMO) on innovation in Moroccan companies. Through a literature review, the concepts of knowledge management, NMMO, and innovation were examined to establish a solid theoretical foundation.Ahmed El Hammoumi, Mohamed El Hammoumi

Influence of coagulation bath on morphology of cellulose membranes prepared by NMMO method
Frontiers of Chemical Engineering in China, 2008To control the morphology of cellulose membranes used for separation, they were prepared by the NMMO method using water, methanol, ethanol and their binary solution as coagulation baths. Morphologies of the surface and cross section of dry membranes were observed. The pore structure parameters of wet membranes were determined.

Biogas Production from N-Methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) Pretreated Forest Residues
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2014Lignocellulosic biomass represents a great potential for biogas production. However, a suitable pretreatment is needed to improve their digestibility. This study investigates the effects of an organic solvent, N-Methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) at temperatures of 120 and 90 °C, NMMO concentrations of 75 and 85% and treatment times of 3 and 15 h on the ...

Characterization of bamboo cellulose-based green composite film by NMMO technology
Frontiers of Forestry in China, 2008Abstract Bamboo cellulose, lignin and starch have been molecularly blended to form homogeneous composite films by NMMO-technology. The structural properties of the films were investigated with FTIR, WAXD and AFM technologies, respectively. The results show that bamboo cellulose, lignin and starch have been molecularly blended through NMMO-technology ...

Cellulose solutions in N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) – degradation processes and stabilizers
Cellulose, 2002Efficient stabilization of cellulose solutions in NMMO(1) against side reactions and their harmful effects meansprevention of both homolytic and heterolytic side reactions, which is mainlyaccomplished by trapping radicals, formaldehyde, andN-(methylene)iminium ions (5).

Study of the Structure and Oxygen Permeability of Cellulose Packaging Films from NMMO-Solutions
Advanced Materials Research, 2011This paper is concerned with the preparation of cellulose packaging films with high oxygen permeability. The films were prepared from cotton pulp and wood pulp by the cast-wiped method using N-methymorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) as a solvent. The effects of processing parameters on the structure and performance of cellulose films were also studied.
