Endothelial Cells Angiogenesis in Sulfated Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) Hydrogels Enhanced by Bioactive Glass‐Released Ions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanically tunable hydrogel composed of gelatin, chondroitin sulfate and laminin promotes angiogenesis in vitro without the supplement of growth factors. Endothelial cells morphogenesis was further enhanced by medium conditioned with bioactive glass 58S‐released ions (Ca and Si), thus offering a promising strategy to vascularize 3D tissue ...

Characterisation of the Structure and Flow Behaviour of Model Chocolate Systems by Means of NMR and Rheology

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2005
In order to characterise the structure and flow behaviour of model chocolate systems Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and rheometry were used to determine the T1 - and T2 - NMR relaxation times and their corresponding flow functions.

Transverse NMR relaxation in magnetically heterogeneous media

open access: yes, 2008
We consider the NMR signal from a permeable medium with a heterogeneous Larmor frequency component that varies on a scale comparable to the spin-carrier diffusion length.

Anomalous Stiffening of a Conjugated Polymer During Electrochemical Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The electromechanical response of a thienothiophene‐based conjugated polymer with triethylene glycol side chains is investigated. Electrochemical nanoindentation and atomic force microscopy reveal a modest and reversible increase in elastic modulus at room temperature upon electrochemical oxidation.

Detection by NMR of a "local spin-gap" in quenched CsC60

open access: yes, 1999
We present a 13C and 133Cs NMR investigation of the CsC60 cubic quenched phase. Previous ESR measurements suggest that this phase is metallic, but NMR reveals contrasting electronic behavior on the local scale.

4D Printing of Self‐Immolative Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The integration of self‐immolative polymers (SIPs) into light‐based 3D printed structures is presented as a new “living” 4D printing strategy. By exploiting their metastability and stimuli‐responsiveness, SIP‐containing printed objects can undergo rapid and triggered degrowth under ambient conditions and subsequent regrowth through polymer ...

Data on tensile tests and NMR measurements of poly(vinilidene fluoride) before and after stress relaxation

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
Poly(vinilidene fluoride) was characterized before and after stress relaxation by tensile tests and time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR). Tensile tests were performed to provide mechanical properties, focused on the data of elastic modulus for

23Na and 75As NMR Study of Antiferromagnetism and Spin Fluctuations on NaFeAs Single Crystals

open access: yes, 2011
We report the $^{23}$Na and $^{75}$As NMR studies on NaFeAs single crystals. The structure transition temperature $T_S$ (55 K) and the spin density wave (SDW) transition temperature $T_{SDW}$ (40.5 K) are determined by the NMR line splits.

Impact of Surface Functionalization on NV Quantum Properties: Implications for Biosensing with Fluorescent Nanodiamonds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorescent nanodiamonds (fNDs) have emerged as an invaluable quantum sensing platform for biological and biochemical systems. This paper investigates the influence of common surface functionalization strategies for bioconjugation on the quantum properties of nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in nanodiamonds.

Quantification of Surface Roughness Effect on NMR T2 Relaxation Using a Novel 3D Pore Surface Roughness Characterization Workflow

open access: yesApplications in Engineering Science
Evaluation of pore size distributions in porous rocks using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) T2 relaxation time typically assumes spherical pores with smooth surfaces.
