Proton magnetic resonance imaging with a nitrogen-vacancy spin sensor
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging with nanometer resolution requires new detection techniques with sensitivity well beyond the capability of conventional inductive detection.

Fluorescent turn-on sensors based on pyrene-containing Schiff base derivatives for Cu2+ recognition: spectroscopic and DFT computational studies [PDF]
A new fluorescent chemosensor L1, pyrene containing long chain Schiff base derivative in 1-position has been synthesized. Similarly, the receptors L2 and L3 are also designed in order to compare the binding ability for detection of Cu2+.

MEMS Components for NMR Atomic Sensors
This paper introduces a batch fabrication method to manufacture micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) components for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) atomic sensors, such as NMR gyroscope (NMRG) and NMR magnetometer (NMRM). The components presented are: 1) micro-coils generating the magnetic field with the magnetic field homogeneity of $H=354 ...

A readily accessible multifunctional probe: simultaneous recognition of the cation ZN²⁺ and the anion F⁻ via distinguishable wavelengths [PDF]
The probe 1 was readily prepared via condensation of 8-formyl-7-hydroxy-coumarin and carbonic dihydrazide in a one-step procedure. Probe 1 exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity towards Zn²⁺ and F⁻ through a “turn-on” fluorescence response and/or ...

NMR detection using laser-polarized xenon as a dipolar sensor [PDF]
Hyperpolarized (129)Xe can be used as a sensor to indirectly detect NMR spectra of heteronuclei that are neither covalently bound nor necessarily in direct contact with the Xe atoms, but coupled through long-range intermolecular dipole-dipole interactions. To reintroduce long-range dipolar couplings the sample symmetry has to be broken.

Hyperpolarized xenon nuclear spins detected by optical atomic magnetometry
We report the use of an atomic magnetometer based on nonlinear magneto-optical rotation with frequency modulated light (FM NMOR) to detect nuclear magnetization of xenon gas.

A Spectral-Scanning Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Integrated System [PDF]
An integrated spectral-scanning magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique is implemented in a 0.12μm SiGe BiCMOS process. This system is designed for small-scale MRI applications with non-uniform and low magnetic fields.

Stripe sensor tomography [PDF]
We introduce a general concept of tomographic imaging for the case of an imaging sensor that has a stripelike shape. We first show that there is no difference, in principle, between two-dimensional tomography using conventional electromagnetic or ...

Quantum Magnetoresistance of GaPAs Whiskers
The magnetoresistance of GaPxAs1-x (x = 0…0.45) whiskers with doping concentration of silicon in the range from the deep dielectric side of metal-insulated transition (~1017 сm-3) to its critical concentration (Nc ~ 5´1018 сm-3) at cryogenic temperatures
