Xylanase Production by Aspergillus niger Using Agro-Industrial Residues and Tween Surfactants: A Non-Parametric Analysis

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Kimia dan Lingkungan
Xylanase plays a key role in hydrolyzing xylan, yet large-scale enzyme production remains limited by the high cost of purified xylan substrates. Although lignocellulosic agricultural residues offer a promising low-cost alternative, their effectiveness as

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Characterization of Bio-Oil and Bio-Asphalt Produced Through Catalytic Pyrolysis of Different Biomass Feedstocks

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Kimia dan Lingkungan
Asphalt is an aggregate binder in road pavement construction derived from the residue of the petroleum fractionation process, a non-renewable natural resource. Reliance on petroleum asphalt leads to resource scarcity and increased production costs.

A low-temperature, environment-friendly approach to the synthesis of magnesium borates using magnesium waste scraps

open access: yesMain Group Metal Chemistry, 2015
In the present study, magnesium borate synthesis was performed by a hydrothermal mixing method, with the use of magnesium waste scraps (W) as the magnesium source, along with boric acid (H) or boron oxide (B) as the boron source.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...
