ABSTRACT Background Pediatric patients with extracranial solid tumors (ST) receiving chemotherapy are at an increased risk for Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP). However, evidence guiding prophylaxis practices in this population is limited. A PJP‐related fatality at our institution highlighted inconsistent prescribing approaches and concerns about

Terahertz Security Image Quality Assessment by No-reference Model Observers
To provide the possibility of developing objective image quality assessment (IQA) algorithms for THz security images, we constructed the THz security image database (THSID) including a total of 181 THz security images with the resolution of 127*380.

Image deblurring to improve the grain monitoring in a rice combine harvester
One of the most important sources of grain losses happens during harvesting. A machine vision system is capable to send online information of the grain condition to the adjustment units in order to reduce the grain losses.

Sickle Cell Disease Is an Inherent Risk for Asthma in a Sibling Comparison Study
ABSTRACT Introduction Sickle cell disease (SCD) and asthma share a complex relationship. Although estimates vary, asthma prevalence in children with SCD is believed to be comparable to or higher than the general population. Determining whether SCD confers an increased risk for asthma remains challenging due to overlapping symptoms and the ...

No-reference Stereoscopic Image Quality Assessment Using Natural Scene Statistics [PDF]
We present two contributions in this work: (i) a bivariate generalized Gaussian distribution (BGGD) model for the joint distribution of luminance and disparity subband coefficients of natural stereoscopic scenes and (ii) a no-reference (NR) stereo image ...

Efficient Computational Cost Saving in Video Processing for QoE Estimation
No-Reference video quality assessment has become a trending and challenging hot topic in estimating perceived quality in audiovisual content. In this paper, we present a proposal to considerably reduce the computational cost of video processing without ...

ABSTRACT Background While Wilms tumor (WT) typically has a favorable prognosis, relapsed cases—especially those with high‐risk histology—remain therapeutically challenging after intensive frontline therapy. The combination of vincristine and irinotecan has demonstrated activity in pediatric solid tumors, and pazopanib, a multi‐targeted tyrosine kinase ...

A note on W_{2,s} strings [PDF]
BRST operators for two-dimensional theories with spin-2 and spin-$s$ currents, generalising the $W_3$ BRST operator of Thierry-Mieg, have previously been obtained.

ABSTRACT The pediatric hematology‐oncology fellowship training curriculum has not substantially changed since its inception. The first year of training is clinically focused, and the second and third years are devoted to scholarship. However, this current structure leaves many fellows less competitive in the current job market, resulting in ...

Deep No-Reference Tone Mapped Image Quality Assessment [PDF]
The process of rendering high dynamic range (HDR) images to be viewed on conventional displays is called tone mapping. However, tone mapping introduces distortions in the final image which may lead to visual displeasure. To quantify these distortions, we introduce a novel no-reference quality assessment technique for these tone mapped images.
