Influence of soil tillage technology on tillage erosion
Tillage-induced erosion has negative impacts on the soil environment and production of the soil under intensive farming. Tillage erosion was evaluated during soil tillage performed by two technologies, i.e. conventional tillage and reduced tillage, commonly used in the Czech Republic.

Is just considering texture enough to define compaction on the basis of soil density?
The bulk density values indicative of compaction in clayey soils correspond to a wide range of values (1.30-1.47 Mg m-3), due to the diverse types of soil management.

Non-inversion conservation tillage as an underestimated driver of tillage erosion [PDF]
AbstractTillage erosion is a widely underestimated process initiating soil degradation especially in case of large agricultural fields located in rolling topography. It is often assumed that, conservation, non-inversion tillage causes less tillage erosion than conventional inversion tillage. In this study, tillage erosion was determined on three paired

The effect of three soil tillage treatments on weed infestation in forage maize
This study assessed the impact of using soil tillage in maize crops on weed infestation intensity and weed species composition. A field experiment was established as a model example of livestock production management in drier climate conditions where ...

Tillage or no-tillage: Impact on mycorrhizae [PDF]
Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi are ubiquitous in agricultural soils. These fungi play important roles in plant nutrition and soil conservation. The persistence of AM fungi in ecosystems depends on the formation and survival of propagules (e.g., spore, hyphae and colonized roots).

Soil Alveolata diversity in the undisturbed steppe and wheat agrocenoses under different tillage
Microeukaryotes are vital for maintaining soil quality and ecosystem functioning, however, their communities are less studied than bacterial and fungal ones, especially by high throughput sequencing techniques.

Long term effects of different soil tillage systems on maize (Zea mays L.) yields
The effects of three tillage systems: no-tillage (NT), reduced tillage (RT) and conventional tillage (CT), and three levels of fertilization (0, 258 and 516 kg/ha NPK (58:18:24)), on the maize yield during ten years (1999-2008) were analyzed on the ...

Growing-season soil microbial respiration response to long-term no tillage and spring ridge tillage [PDF]
No tillage (NT) and spring ridge tillage (SRT) are two common applications of conservation tillage. Although conservation tillage is known to exert major control over soil microbial respiration (SMR), the growing-season SMR response to these two ...
