A combination of ab initio molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory calculations clarifies the pH‐dependent origin of the selectivity of nitrate reduction on Cu(100). ABSTRACT We investigate the nitrate reduction reaction (NO3 RR) on the Cu(100) surface using grand‐canonical density functional theory (GC‐DFT) under constant ...

Inspired by Nitrite reductase, a metal–organic framework overlayer is introduced to regulate the interfacial hydration microenvironment on Cu electrodes, enriching hydrated K+ species that act as efficient proton donors. This strategy enables nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion with near‐unity selectivity at industrial‐level current densities in neutral ...

Laser‐assisted synthesis of CuPd amorphous/crystalline heterojunction demonstrates >80% Faradaic efficiency for nitrate‐to‐ammonia electroreduction across wide potential windows. The integrated solar‐powered electrolyzer achieves 6% solar‐to‐ammonia energy efficiency at 0.4 sun, 6–20 mg h−1 CO2 capture rate, and stability exceeding 100 h.

This study establishes an innovative approach to synthesize organonitrogens featuring C═N bonds efficiently using non‐precious metal‐doped MoS2 in a flow electrolyzer. Fe dopant significantly enhances Faradaic efficiency and yield rate, achieving over 81% and 2630 mmol h−1 g−1 for formaldoxime production. This platform upcycles pollutants into valuable

Peroxy radical detection by chemical amplification (PERCA) [PDF]
Important reactions of atmospheric free radicals are the chain oxidation of NO and CO. Thus: H2O + NO yields OH + NO2; OH + CO yields H + CO2; H + O2 + M yields HO2 + M.

Ground-based measurements of O3, NO2, OClO, and BrO during the 1987 Antarctic ozone depletion event [PDF]
Near-ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy in the wavelength range from 330 to 370 nm was used to measure O3, NO2, OClO, and BrO at McMurdo Station (78S) during 1987.

The NO-NO2 system at laboratory surfaces [PDF]
Experiments on formation and excitation of NO2 and NO molecules at (and near) laboratory surfaces of varying degrees of characterization are reviewed. On some transition metals NO is desorbed in the B sub 2 pi state, from which it radiates the familiar ...
