Real-World Selection of Patients for Allogeneic HCT at a Single Centre: Lack of a Suitable Donor and Other Reasons for Not Proceeding

open access: yesCurrent Oncology
The reasons why patients cannot proceed with HCT, including cases where no suitable donor is identified, remain poorly described. We reviewed all referrals for allogeneic HCT to our programme between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2023.

Nanoparticle delivery of Cas9 ribonucleoprotein and donor DNA in vivo induces homology-directed DNA repair

open access: yesNature Biomedical Engineering, 2017
Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)–CRISPR associated protein 9 (Cas9)-based therapeutics, especially those that can correct gene mutations via homology-directed repair, have the potential to revolutionize the treatment of ...

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

EIF4A3‐Mediated Biogenesis of CircFADS1 Promotes the Progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma via Wnt/β‐Catenin Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Mounting research indicates that circRNAs are pivotal elements in tumorigenesis and progression. Understanding the mechanisms by which circRNAs function in tumors is crucial for identifying undiscovered diagnostic and treatment targets.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.
