On Ramsey properties of classes with forbidden trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Let F be a set of relational trees and let Forbh(F) be the class of all structures that admit no homomorphism from any tree in F; all this happens over a fixed finite relational signature $\sigma$.

Alternating High‐Fat and Polysaccharide Diets Modulates Gut Phage‐Bacterial Interplay

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals how alternating high‐fat and polysaccharide diets reshape the human gut virome and enhance phage‐bacteria interactions. Using large‐scale metagenomic meta‐analysis and a time‐resolved mouse model, the authors show that diets strongly modulate phage abundance, lifestyle, and gene exchange, offering new insights into nutrition‐guided ...

Twisted Rindler space-times

open access: yes, 2010
The (linearized) noncommutative Rindler space-times associated with canonical, Lie-algebraic and quadratic twist-deformed Minkowski spaces are provided. The corresponding deformed Hawking spectra detected by Rindler observers are derived as well.Comment:

Mapping Genetic Regulation of Transcription to Identify Functional Variants and Genes Associated with Pancreatic Cancer Risk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integration of a pancreatic eQTL map with a GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 82 putative functional variants and 15 genes. The association between rs11102484 and pancreatic cancer risk is observed in a total of 5699 cases and 8467 controls. The G allele of rs11102484 weakens ZNF263 binding and the silencer‐promoter interaction, thereby increasing ST7L ...

Bioenergy Cropping Reduces the Spatiotemporal Scaling of Soil Bacterial Biodiversity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Consistent with patterns observed in plant and animal communities, soil bacterial communities exhibit significant species–time–area and phylogenetic–time–area relationships independent of nested structure. Bioenergy cropping significantly reduces the spatiotemporal scaling rates, particularly in sandy loam soils.
