Probing positron cooling in noble gases via annihilation $\gamma$ spectra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
$\gamma$ spectra for positron annihilation in noble-gas atoms are calculated using many-body theory for positron momenta up to the positronium-formation threshold.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Position resolution limits in pure noble gaseous detectors for X-ray energies from 1 to 60 keV

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2015
The calculated position resolutions for X-ray photons (1–60 keV) in pure noble gases at atmospheric pressure are presented. In this work we show the influence of the atomic shells and the detector dimensions on the intrinsic position resolution of the ...

Frequency shifts in noble-gas magnetometers

open access: yes, 2019
Polarized nuclei are a powerful tool in nuclear spin studies and in searches for beyond-the-standard model physics. Noble-gas comagnetometer systems, which compare two nuclear species, have thus far been limited by anomalous frequency variations of ...

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Characteristics of noble gases in the large Gaoshiti-Moxi gas field in Sichuan Basin, SW China

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2014
Taking the large Gaoshiti-Moxi gas field of Sichuan Basin as an example, the total composition contents and isotopes of noble gases in the natural gases from the Sinian Dengying Formation and Cambrian Longwangmiao Formation are analyzed, and then their ...

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Research progress on methane combustion catalysts

open access: yes能源环境保护, 2023
Methane as the main component of natural gas, has been widely used in power plants, natural gas automobiles, and the synthesis of numerous compounds. However, the leakage and emission of methane can induce severe environmental issues due to its strong ...

Towards redistribution laser cooling of molecular gases: Production of candidate molecules SrH by laser ablation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Laser cooling by collisional redistribution of radiation has been successfully applied in the past for cooling dense atomic gases. Here we report on progress of work aiming at the demonstration of redistribution laser cooling in a molecular gas.
