Background Transplant recipients are at risk of pulmonary nocardiosis, a life-threatening opportunistic infection caused by Nocardia species. Given the limitations of conventional diagnostic techniques (i.e., microscopy and culture), a polymerase chain ...

Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) and anti‐PL‐7 antibody‐positive interstitial lung disease (ILD) share early radiographic similarities, yet their treatments differ significantly. This article reports a rare case of dual anti‐PL‐7 and anti‐GM‐CSF autoantibody positivity, initially misdiagnosed as anti‐synthetase syndrome due to interstitial ...

First case of Nocardia nova spinal abscess in an immunocompetent patient
Nocardia are a group of aerobic actinomycetes that are filamentous gram-positive, weakly acid-fast, and cause opportunistic infection in immunocompromised patients.

In‐silico drug discovery pipeline for Mycetoma caused by Nocardia brasiliensis. A library of 1034 phytocompounds was screened to identify potent inhibitors, with Parviflorone F showing strong binding and stability against the 50S ribosomal unit. Molecular dynamics confirmed its inhibitory potential, offering a promising therapeutic candidate.

Immunocompetent patient with a brain abscess caused by Nocardia beijingensis in Latin America
Rationale: Nocardia species are not commonly referred as primary infectious entities but rather as opportunistic pathogens. Infectious cases of Nocardia spp. in immunocompetent individuals are rare.

Comparison of Three Methods of Isolation of the Genus Nocardia from the Soil of Hospitals in Isfahan Province, Iran, and its Identification Based on Phenotypic and Molecular Methods [PDF]
Background & Aims: Nocardia are gram-positive, aerobic, relative acid-fast, and opportunistic bacteria, and one of the causes of systematic infection around the world. The natural habitats of these bacteria are soil and dust.

Genomic characterization of Nocardia seriolae strains isolated from diseased fish
Members of the genus Nocardia are widespread in diverse environments; a wide range of Nocardia species are known to cause nocardiosis in several animals, including cat, dog, fish, and humans. Of the pathogenic Nocardia species, N.
