Systemic Nocardia caviae Infection
Chest, 1974Nocardia caviae has been implicated as a cause of actinomycotic mycetoma in man. To date, this is the only form of nocardiosis with which this species has been associated. The two fatal infections described in this report are the first known cases of systemic nocardiosis in man caused by N caviae.

Disseminated Nocardia nova Infection

The patient presented with fever, dry cough, a swollen lower extremity, and nodules on the right wrist and the scalp. Archives of dermatology, 1976We report a 40-year-old man with advanced Hodgkin disease who received combination chemotherapy and developed disseminated Nocardia brasiliensis infection. We discuss opportunistic infections in the compromised host, with particular reference to nocardial disease and certain biologic characteristics of that organism.
