Impact of the Duration of Trimethoprim–Sulfamethoxazole Prophylaxis on the Incidence of Infection After Kidney Transplantation: A Target Trial Emulation Study Within the Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS)—The QUID‐PRO‐QUO Study (QUIDney Transplantation and Duration of PROphylaxis With QUO‐Trimoxazole)

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, Volume 27, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
In this nationwide target trial emulation of 1,700 kidney transplant recipients, no differences in bacterial infection rates at 12‐month post‐transplant was observed between short (5‐7 months) and long (≥7 months) TMP‐SMX prophylaxis (9.1% vs 11.5%; adjusted risk difference +2.1%, 95% CI −0.5 to +5.3). Most infections were UTIs due to Enterobacterales.

Recognising cutaneous tuberculosis

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, Volume 23, Issue 7, Page 793-802, July 2025.
