New 3D Diffusion Code Based on The Nodal Polynomial Expansion

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences, 2021
Nodal Expansion Method (NEM) is widely employed in the neutronic design of nuclear reactors core. The main reason is its higher computational performance and efficiency when compared with the conventional fine mesh difference method or finite element ...

Variant of Green's Function Nodal Method for Neutron Diffusion [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1990
A variant of the Green's function nodal method derived from the boundary integral form of the multigroup neutron diffusion equation in rectangular geometry is presented. As usual in the nodal methods, the multi-dimensional diffusion equation is integrated in the transverse direction.

The pattern of nodal morphogen signaling is shaped by co-receptor expression

open access: yeseLife, 2021
Embryos must communicate instructions to their constituent cells over long distances. These instructions are often encoded in the concentration of signals called morphogens.

Diffusion of Nodal Signaling Activity in the Absence of the Feedback Inhibitor Lefty2 [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopmental Cell, 2001
The role of Lefty2 in left-right patterning was investigated by analysis of mutant mice that lack asymmetric expression of lefty2. These animals exhibited various situs defects including left isomerism. The asymmetric expression of nodal was prolonged and the expression of Pitx2 was upregulated in the mutant embryos.

The additive role of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging to axillary nodal status evaluation in cases of newly diagnosed breast cancer

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2021
Background Axillary nodal status is crucial for the management of cases with recently diagnosed breast cancer; usually addressed via axillary ultrasonography (US) along with tissue sampling in case of suspicion.

A variational nodal formulation for multi-dimensional unstructured neutron diffusion problems

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2023
A variational nodal method (VNM) with unstructured-mesh is presented for solving steady-state and dynamic neutron diffusion equations. Orthogonal polynomials are employed for spatial discretization, and the stiffness confinement method (SCM) is ...

Development and Validation of Three-dimensional Neutronics Code Based on Advanced Nodal Method for Hexagonal-z Geometry

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2022
Hexagonal fuel assemblies are widely used in liquid metal-cooled fast reactors (LMFR). The design and safety analysis of these reactors require three-dimensional full-core coupling calculations of neutron fluxes and currents in the core.

Verification of a two-step code system MCS/RAST-F to fast reactor core analysis

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2022
RAST-F is a new full-core analysis code based on the two-step approach that couples a multi-group cross-section generation Monte-Carlo code MCS and a multi-group nodal diffusion solver.
