Nodal Na+ and Ca2+ flux dynamics in cortical myelinated axons

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience
Functional neuronal connectivity relies on long-range propagation of action potentials by myelinated axons. This process critically depends on the distribution and biophysical properties of ion channels clustered at specialized, regularly spaced domains,

Sonographic localisation of lymph nodes suspicious of metastatic breast cancer to surgical axillary levels

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 119-138, March 2025.
Sonographic imaging is used to identify the presence, number and location of malignant lymph nodes. Axillary lymph nodes suspicious of harbouring breast cancer metastasis can be localised to three surgical axillary levels. This paper will unpack the axillary anatomy, muscular sonographic landmarks, surgical axillary lymph node levels and the ...

Development and Verification of Hexagonal Quasi-diffusion Code Based on Variational Nodal Method

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2023
New type reactors usually adopt advanced fuel types and more anisotropic fuel arrangements, the neutron spectrum is very different from that of pressurized water reactor, and the neutron anisotropy is stronger.

Classification of High‐ and Low‐Risk Patients With Dermal Leiomyosarcoma: An Exploratory Nationwide Cohort Study

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Risk factors for dermal leiomyosarcoma (dLMS) metastasis remain poorly defined because methodological constraints, small sample sizes, and short follow‐up have limited previous studies. Objectives To investigate risk factors for metastasis and local recurrence, and to propose a high‐ and low‐risk classification for dLMS. Methods All

Abnormalities of white matter network properties in middle-aged and elderly patients with functional constipation

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology
PurposeTo explore white matter network topological properties changes in middle-aged and elderly patients with functional constipation (Functional Constipation, FC) by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and to evaluate the correlation between the abnormal ...

Predictive Values of MRI and PET Derived Quantitative Parameters for Patterns of Failure in Both p16+ and p16– High Risk Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2019
Purpose: FDG-PET adds to clinical factors, such tumor stage and p16 status, in predicting local (LF), regional (RF), and distant failure (DF) in poor prognosis locally advanced head and neck cancer (HNC) treated with chemoradiation.

Juvenile Mycosis Fungoides: A Multicenter Retrospective Italian Study

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
This multicenter retrospective study included 29 juvenile mycosis fungoides (JMF) patients from five Italian centres with confirmed histopathological diagnosis. most often presents with hypopigmented/classic variants and CD8+ phenotype. Early‐onset cases ( < 14 years) show better long‐term outcomes.

Dissecting the dynamics of signaling events in the BMP, WNT, and NODAL cascade during self-organized fate patterning in human gastruloids.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2019
During gastrulation, the pluripotent epiblast self-organizes into the 3 germ layers-endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm, which eventually form the entire embryo.

Depth of Invasion Predicts Vocal Fold Motility and Muscle Invasion in Glottic Carcinoma

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
To determine whether depth of invasion (DOI) provides an objective surrogate for vocal fold motility and vocal muscle invasion in glottic squamous cell carcinoma. Methods and Results: In derivation and external validation cohorts, radiologic DOI strongly correlated with pathologic DOI and accurately predicted altered vocal fold motility and muscle ...

Central Nervous System Tumors in Xeroderma Pigmentosum: Five Cases and Review of the Literature

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is a rare autosomal recessive DNA‐repair disorder characterized by extreme ultraviolet radiation (UVR) sensitivity, markedly increased cutaneous malignancy risk, and progressive neurological disease in approximately one‐third of patients.
