Stabilized conforming nodal integration in the natural-element method
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2004AbstractA stabilized conforming nodal integration scheme is implemented in the natural neighbour method in conjunction with non‐Sibsonian interpolation. In this approach, both the shape functions and the integration scheme are defined through use of first‐order Voronoi diagrams.

A stabilized nodally integrated tetrahedral
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2006AbstractA stabilized, nodally integrated linear tetrahedral is formulated and analysed. It is well known that linear tetrahedral elements perform poorly in problems with plasticity, nearly incompressible materials, and acute bending. For a variety of reasons, low‐order tetrahedral elements are preferable to quadratic tetrahedral elements; particularly ...

A nodal integral method for quadrilateral elements
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2008AbstractNodal integral methods (NIMs) have been developed and successfully used to numerically solve several problems in science and engineering. The fact that accurate solutions can be obtained on relatively coarse mesh sizes, makes NIMs a powerful numerical scheme to solve partial differential equations.

An Integral Form of the Variational Nodal Method
Nuclear Science and Engineering, 2004An integral form of the variational nodal method is formulated, implemented, and tested. The method combines an integral transport treatment of the even-parity flux within the spatial node with an odd-parity spherical harmonics expansion of the Lagrange multipliers at the node interfaces.

Multi‐time‐step integration using nodal partitioning
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1988AbstractAn algorithm is presented which integrates different groups of nodes of a finite element mesh with different time steps and different integrators. Since the nodal groups are updated independently no unsymmetric systems need be solved. Stability is demonstrated by showing that an energy norm of the solution decreases after every update if the ...

Integrate USD the nodal way, a visual VFX pipeline
ACM SIGGRAPH 2019 Talks, 2019Pixar Universal Scene Description technology is well known in the VFX world. With its promising goal to unify and ease the interchanges of data between Digital Content Creation tools (DCC), it has convinced the industry since its initial open source release in 2016. The question is no more Should USD be adopted?
