Targeting Supramolecular Active Complexes of Nav1.7/Nav1.8 to Relieve Chronic Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In mice and patients with severe chronic neuropathic pain (NP), Nav1.7, Nav1.8, TrkB, and five cytoskeletal proteins form supramolecular active complexes (SMACs) with polygonal lattice structures as noxious signal amplifiers in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons.

Tropical refined curve counting via motivic integration

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a geometric interpretation of Block and G\"ottsche's refined tropical curve counting invariants in terms of virtual $\chi_{-y}$-specializations of motivic measures of semialgebraic sets in relative Hilbert schemes.

Transcriptional integration of Wnt and Nodal pathways in establishment of the Spemann organizer

open access: yesDevelopmental Biology, 2012
Signaling inputs from multiple pathways are essential for the establishment of distinct cell and tissue types in the embryo. Therefore, multiple signals must be integrated to activate gene expression and confer cell fate, but little is known about how this occurs at the level of target gene promoters.

MEOX1 Coordinates Autocrine‐Paracrine Programs via SPHK1/S1P to Promote Lymph Node Metastasis in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In ovarian cancer, MEOX1 activates the SPHK1/S1P pathway to promote both tumor progression and tumor–stroma crosstalk. MEOX1‐dependent signaling drives CAF activation, enhances VEGF‐C expression, and stimulates lymphangiogenesis, ultimately facilitating lymph node metastasis.

Dispersion Anomalies in Cuprate Superconductors

open access: yes, 2004
We argue that the shape of the dispersion along the nodal and antinodal directions in the cuprates can be understood as a consequence of the interaction of the electrons with collective spin excitations.

A Note on the Integrality Gap in the Nodal Interdiction Problem

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2013
In the maximum flow network interdiction problem, an attacker attempts to minimize the maximum flow by interdicting flow on the arcs of network. In this paper, our focus is on the nodal interdiction for network instead of the arc interdiction. Two path inequalities for the node-only interdiction problem are represented.

Type‐II Dirac Fermions in Monolayer In2O: Interplay of Magnetotransport, Spin Hall Effect, and Superconductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
First‐principles calculations reveal that monolayer In2O${\rm In}_2{\rm O}$ hosts type‐II Dirac fermions near the Fermi level, which split into Weyl points under spin‐orbit coupling. The material exhibits negative and giant magnetoresistance, a pronounced spin Hall effect, and phonon‐mediated superconductivity at 1.5 K, establishing it as a unique ...

Renewable Electric Energy Integration: Quantifying the Value of Design of Markets for International Transmission Capacity [PDF]

open access: yes
Integrating large quantities of supply-driven renewable electricity generation remains a political and operational challenge. One of the main obstacles in Europe to installing at least 200 GWs of power from variable renewable sources is how to deal with ...

The Ground State of the Pseudogap in Cuprate Superconductors

open access: yes, 2006
We present studies of the electronic structure of La2-xBaxCuO4, a system where the superconductivity is strongly suppressed as static spin and charge orders or "stripes" develop near the doping level of x=1/8.

Dumbbell‐Structured Plasmonic‐Enhanced Optical Nanoprobes Boosting Photo‐Magnetic‐Acoustic Multimodal Imaging‐Guided Photodynamic‐Photothermal Synergistic Treatment and Immunogenic Death in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports a novel rationally‐designed optical nanoprobe based on dumbbell‐shaped mesoporous silica‐coated gold nanorods, loaded with rare‐earth oxides, photosensitizers, and tumor‐targeted peptides, enabling plasmonic‐enhanced multimodal imaging and PTT‐PDT synergy.
