A Half a Node or a Whole Node:A Comparison of Methods for Submitting Lymph Nodes [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1998
For many neoplasms, the status of regional lymph nodes is a critical prognostic factor with direct therapeutic implications. Despite the importance of lymph node status, there is no consensus on whether lymph nodes from node dissections should be submitted in their entirety.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Compression in Wearable Sensor Nodes: Impacts of Node Topology [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2014
Wearable sensor nodes monitoring the human body must operate autonomously for very long periods of time. Online and low-power data compression embedded within the sensor node is therefore essential to minimize data storage/transmission overheads. This paper presents a low-power MSP430 compressive sensing implementation for providing such compression ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Localisation of mobile nodes in wireless networks with correlated in time measurement noise. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Wireless sensor networks are an inherent part of decision making, object tracking and location awareness systems. This work is focused on simultaneous localisation of mobile nodes based on received signal strength indicators (RSSIs) with correlated in ...

Application of the Network Analysis in Psychological Research

open access: yesPsychological Topics, 2020
The network approach represents a novel paradigm for exploring relations between psychological constructs and observable variables. According to this approach, variables form an autonomous dynamical system; the psychological construct is therefore not ...
